iamDiary Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 October 2026
iamDiary is an iPhone app for writing down small wins and checking in on the areas you choose. It is made by Poom Maneesriwong, an individual developer in Thailand. This page explains where your data lives and how to delete it.
In short
- The developer collects no data from you. There is no account and no developer server.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs.
- Your entries stay on your iPhone and go with its own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer). This version does not sync between devices. The developer cannot see your entries.
- All purchases go through Apple. The developer never receives your payment details.
What the app uses and where it is kept
| Data | Where it is kept | Can the developer see it? |
|---|
| Wins, check-ins, day notes, check-in areas (names and emoji), Focus items | On this iPhone, and in the iPhone backups iOS makes (iCloud Backup or a computer) | No |
| The date your free trial started, and a "has used iamDiary" marker | Your iCloud key-value storage and your device's Keychain | No |
| Settings (language, color mode, reminder time, lock) and the last known membership status, used when offline | On your device | No |
| Purchases and membership | Apple (App Store); the app checks them on your device with StoreKit | No payment details and no identity |
iCloud and backups: the app uses iCloud only for the trial start date and the "has used" marker, which contain none of your entries. The app does not send your entries to iCloud. iOS includes them in your iPhone's own backups when iCloud Backup is on or when you back up to a computer. Those backups belong to your Apple ID and are covered by Apple's terms.
Purchases: payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are all handled by Apple. The developer does not receive your name, email address or card details.
Face ID and passcode: iOS performs the check. The app only learns whether unlocking succeeded; it never receives face data or your passcode.
Reminders: local notifications scheduled on your device, with no server involved. Reminder text never includes your entries.
Backup files (export): a backup file is created only when you ask for one, and you choose where to save it, for example in Files or iCloud Drive. Once saved, the file is in your hands and those of the place you chose. Import reads a file on your device and sends it nowhere.
Deleting your data
- In the app: tap × next to a win, or press and hold it and choose Delete (a short Undo is offered). Tap a check-in again to remove it, and clear a note's text. Deleting a win works at any time; removing a check-in or editing a note works during the trial or with a membership. Swipe a Focus item to delete it (with Undo); this works at any time.
- Delete the app: deleting iamDiary from your iPhone removes its entries from that iPhone. What remains is a small Keychain item and a small iCloud key-value item, holding only the trial start date and the "has used" marker, so that a reinstall doesn't restart the trial. They contain none of your entries. Export a backup first if you want to keep a copy.
- Copies in iPhone backups: backups made before you deleted something (iCloud Backup or a computer) still hold the earlier entries until they are replaced by a newer backup or deleted. iCloud backups are managed in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage › Backups.
Because the developer holds no copy of your data, there is nothing for the developer to access, correct or delete on your behalf. You manage all of it yourself, in the app and in your iPhone's settings.
Emailing support
If you email support@iamdiary.com, the message is forwarded by Cloudflare's email routing to the developer's mailbox. The developer receives your email address and message and uses them only to reply. You can ask for those emails to be deleted at any time.
This website
This website is served by Cloudflare, which delivers the pages and may process IP addresses to serve and protect the site. The developer has turned on no analytics and uses no tracking or advertising cookies.
Children
iamDiary collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will be updated with a new effective date. If the app ever starts using data differently from what is described here, such as syncing between your devices through your own iCloud, planned for a later version, it will say so in the app first.
